Wilacre Park is managed by the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA).
Since 2014, the County of Los Angeles has subsidized maintenance at Wilacre Park, allowing the MRCA to provide free parking at this highly used trailhead. Due to recent budget reductions, the County is no longer able to continue this financial support. As a result, MRCA will be reinstating a parking fee to help sustain ongoing maintenance, safety, and operations at the park.
Beginning May 20, 2026, a $7 fee for up to two hours of parking for a maximum of 4 hours per day per vehicle will be implemented at the Wilacre Park trailhead. Payment will be collected via an electronic pay station, consistent with other MRCA park sites. Cash payment will also be accepted. The last time parking fees were in place at this location was in 2014.
The parking lot will be closed for maintenance from May 11, 2026 through May 14, 2026. The park and trail will be open during this time.
Informational banners have been installed to notify park users of the upcoming parking fees and the parking lot closures.
