Steve Wright Biography

New District Manager Steve Wright comes to the Rancho Simi Recreation Park District from Houston, Texas where he held the position of Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Chief Operations Officer for Harris County Precinct 4 since 2023.  Mr. Wright, with a team of 250 employees, oversaw parks, community centers, programs, special events, and administration for 1.2 million residents.

Prior to his time in Harris County, Mr. Wright was the Director of Parks and Recreation for the cities of College Station and Houston. Mr. Wright managed a staff of 800 employees and was responsible for 380 parks, 61 community centers, among other amenities and programs.

Prior to that, Mr. Wright served as Vice President of Operations, Business Development & Healthy Living as well as Executive Director of the YMCA of Greater Houston for seven years.

Steve and his lovely wife Jodi have been married for 30 years, have three children, two grandchildren, and are thrilled to be back in Simi Valley after living in Texas for the last 17 years.
